Terms and Conditions
The term Stretton Oak Tubs or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is Argoed Barn, Clun, Craven Arms, Shropshire SY7 8NW. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.
Orders can be placed through our website and will be processed within 24 hours of receipt.
We cut and paint all our oak whisky barrels to order and will email as soon as we get your order to advise on delivery timescale. All our barrels have originally contained whisky unless specifically specified. Most orders are dispatched within 3 working days and with you within 7 working days. Should you not be happy with the timescales, please contact us and we will endeavour to get it to you as quick as possible, or if we are unable to meet you requirements we will issue an immediate refund.
We sell our goods for the specific description, i.e. planters are for planting in, water butts for catching water via a drainpipe etc. If you have specific requirements then it is your responsibility to contact us prior to ordering and then ensure that notes are put on your order with your requirements. If you do not put these requests in when ordering if the goods do not fit the purpose you intend to use them for, then you are responsible for the delivery costs both ways if you wish to return them.
All our goods are made from recycled barrels, therefore ever barrel is different, when ordering more than one item we try to find similar looking items, but if you order again in future we won’t be able to match to what you have had previously. As each barrel is individual the sizes are approximate, if you require specific sizes it is your responsibility to contact us prior to ordering to ensure that we can meet your requirements, our measurements are the external measurements and the height measurement is the outside edge (always remember that the wood can be up to 2cm thick and this reduces the internal diameter) Sometimes the barrels will have a cork in the base, and also quite a few have painted ends but this does not effect the use of them.
With water butts these should be put into position straightaway so that they get water in them as soon as possible, if you are not going to be using them for a while you will need to ensure that they are filled with water to stop the wood from shrinking and drying out.
We will always email and keep you informed of expected delivery dates together with tracking details of the courier used.
Should on the rare occasion a product be out of stock, we will fully reimburse you immediately. If you wish us to reserve one for when it comes back into stock we will (with your permission) contact you as soon as it becomes available.
If you subscribe to our website and apply for the promotional offer then this is only available on full price items with a minimum spend of £150.00.
As soon as we receive your order, we will acknowledge receipt with the automatic production of a purchase receipt. We will also send you an email detailing the method of delivery together with delivery method.
You can track the progress of your order either by the couriers website (we will email you a link), or alternatively contacting us and we will find out what stage your delivery is at and let you know.

All our prices quoted include delivery to mainland England and Wales, for Scotland (excluding Highlands and Islands) please enter your delivery address and it will then calculate the additional delivery costs at the checkout. Dependant on the size of product depends on the delivery method used. We tend to use as follows:-
Up to 20kg – Parcelforce (3/4 working days)
20 – 49kg – DX Freight Couriers (3/4 working days)
50kg + – The Pallet Network (4 working days)
Please note that with the Pallet delivery service this is a kerbside delivery service, although the majority of the time the driver will if he is able to place the pallet as near to your house as possible. We use a book in service so when the pallet gets to your local delivery depot they will ring you to arrange the day of delivery, this delivery can be anytime between 9am and 6pm on the nominated day. Delivery is by lorry the smallest we can request is a 7.5T and you must ensure that this size of vehicle can get to you, otherwise you will be liable for all the delivery costs (i.e. the cost of getting the items to you and also returning them to ourselves, which is appoximately £45 each way. Please check with us for the cost as we are charged different prices for every postcode depending on distance with pallet deliveries we will always provide you with a copy of the invoice from the delivery company if you require proof). As we use a booking in service, if you are not in when the pallet is delivered, and the goods can’t be left anywhere safe, then you will be responsible for arranging the re-delivery and also the costs involved (if you don’t accept these costs and the goods are returned to ourselves then we will deduct the delivery and return costs from any refund due). If you require a specific timed delivery then you will be responsible for the additional charges the delivery company make.
All products on our website are available, but on the odd occasion we may sell out before we get chance to delete the product.
If this should happen we will issue a full refund immediately and email you to advise.
