Barrel water butt with metal tap-40 gallon

Our 40 gallon/180 litre wooden oak whisky barrel water butt is fitted with a brass garden tap, it adds a touch of rustic charm and character to your home. .   An eco–friendly way to harvest rainwater for your gardening needs.

The barrel itself measures 90cm high x 63cm wide in the belly narrowing down to 55cm at the base.  All barrels are water tested prior to dispatch, the metal bands are rubbed down, nailed and painted black which further enhances the natural grain of the wood.  A hole is drilled for both the hand pump and drainpipe (a 90mm circular hole for the drainpipe allows any standard drainpipe to fit inside it).

Our taps are fitted using a tapered cone, the tap screws into the cone which ensures a secure tight fit.  The tap also is a standard 1/2″ garden tap that has a hoselock attachment.

With this water butt we recommend putting it on a base built out of either brick, stone or railway sleepers to raise it off the ground so it is easier to get a watering can underneath.
